Bantamweight Champ TJ Dillashaw Gives Neil Riordan, PA, Ph.D., a Shout-out at UFC 227

T.J. Dillashaw defeated Cody Garbrandt by TKO in the first round of their match. Dillashaw used the post-match interview with Rogan to give our founder, Neil Riordan, PA, Ph.D., an enthusiastic shoutout after his victory.

In his 2018 shoutout, Dillashaw told the crowd and viewers all over the world:

One thing. I have to give a big thanks to Dr. Neil Riordan! They helped me get to this fight. I’ve been through a lot. I went through a lot to get here and I wasn’t going to turn this fight down.

And what a long battle it was. Dillashaw retired from the UFC in 2022 as one of the most decorated and accomplished fighters in the history of the league. This included winning the bantamweight title twice and defending it three different times. However, there was a time when none of that seemed possible for him.

Sports injuries are a common problem for professional athletes and that’s especially true for mixed martial artists. While common, they can also be career killers. Dillashaw had been suffering from a major shoulder injury which he had been told would require surgery. Rather than seek treatment, he continued to fight with two injured shoulders.

T.J. knew this wasn’t sustainable so he began searching for an alternative to surgery. He was specifically looking for a solution that wouldn’t require a long recovery. He explained his decision by saying, “I felt that stem cells and healing my body from the inside out were the best way of recovering.” T.J. ‘s search eventually led him to Stem Cell Institute and on to victory.

Neil Riordan’s Breakthrough: Golden Cells™

This is thanks to our Golden Cells™ which we discovered during a retrospective analysis of our data. With these unique cells, we are able to provide effective treatment on a level never seen before. These are the cells that helped T.J. Dillashaw achieve victory and they may be able to do the same for you.

The discovery of Golden Cells™ began with an observation. After treating patients for chronic diseases for over 15 years, we noticed that some patients saw improvement beyond what we saw in others. We routinely saw improvement in many of our patients, but these standouts were producing astonishing results on a regular basis.

We wanted to learn why this was happening. Fortunately, we had over a decade of data to perform a retrospective analysis and see what they had in common. We learned that nearly all of our standout cases were limited to six cell lines. After two and a half years of research, we learned that these cells had a very different molecular signature than those from other patients.

The analysis process took a long time due to constraints in our lab. We initially grew stem cells in only two dimensions. Although this is still the industry standard, it greatly limited how fast we could complete our study. It required us to grow cells side-by-side on flat surfaces that took up a lot of space.

Since then, we have begun using bioreactors to grow our Golden Cells™. This allows the cells to grow in three dimensions rather than two, resulting in more cells with less space. We spent over a year screening to guarantee that the molecular signature of the Golden Cells™ was preserved. Not only were they preserved, but their molecular signature is more noticeable.

Explaining the significance of Golden Cells™, Riordan says:

If you are picking a basketball team, would you want me on your team or LeBron James, possibly the best basketball player of all time? We are both humans, but our abilities on the court are not equal. It’s the same with MSCs [mesenchymal stem cells]. Some perform better than others. That’s why we’ve been working to select the best cells for use in patients with chronic disease. Now we can retrospectively analyze existing data outcomes. We are the only stem cell company with the data to do that.

T.J. Dillashaw gave a special shoutout to Neil Riordan PA, Ph.D., after his win against Cody Garbrandt. He is considered one of the greatest bantamweight fighters the Ultimate Fighting Championship has ever seen. However, this was almost derailed by sports injuries he had developed. This all changed with Golden Cell™ treatment from Stem Cell Institute.
