Stem Cell Therapy for Inflammation (How Does It Work?)

Stem Cell Therapy for Inflammation

With stem cell therapy, you can receive treatment for a wide variety of health issues, including conditions that cause, or are a consequence of, inflammation. Stem cell therapy can treat and improve conditions causing inflammation. Inflammation can leave you in pain, fatigued, and depressed.

Inflammation is a tool used by the body to protect itself from harm. While this is usually helpful, you may also suffer from chronic inflammation which can last much longer and become worse over time. Examples of chronic inflammatory diseases include multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis. At Stem Cell Institute, we use our revolutionary Golden Cells™ to treat various conditions, and help you live more comfortably.

What is Inflammation?

Inflammation is one of your body’s ways of defending itself against illness and injury. It occurs when your immune system identifies foreign stimuli that it recognizes as harmful. Once the foreign stimuli have been removed, your body then starts the healing process.

There are two types of inflammation:

  • Acute inflammation
  • Chronic inflammation

Acute inflammation occurs when your body experiences tissue damage, a bacterial invasion, or exposure to harmful chemicals. This inflammatory response activates quickly and intensely (acutely) with symptoms lasting for a few days or weeks. Subacute inflammation is a stage between acute and chronic inflammation that can last for two to six weeks.

Common types of acute inflammation include:

  • Joint pain
  • Headaches
  • Cuts and scrapes
  • Cold and flu

Chronic inflammation is a much slower, long-term form of inflammation lasting several months or even years. Symptoms and effects can vary depending on the cause, such as inflammatory diseases or an injury. They also depend on your body and its immune cells’ ability to reduce inflammation, overcome the damage, and repair itself.

Inflammatory Diseases

Chronic inflammation can happen in a number of ways. In many cases, a patient may suffer from an autoimmune disease that interferes with the body’s natural immune response, such as multiple sclerosis or rheumatoid arthritis.

Multiple Sclerosis

Patients can experience a wide variety of signs and symptoms of MS. This is because it can affect the central nervous system at differing levels in different parts of the body. Some patients are able to enjoy long periods of remission, free of any new symptoms. Unfortunately, severe cases can result in losing the ability to walk or move around freely.

Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid arthritis, or RA for short, is both an inflammatory and autoimmune disease. Like MS, it causes the body to attack itself, only in this case it attacks the lining of the joints (synovium). This makes it different from osteoarthritis which is degenerative and caused by the wearing down of protective cartilage over time.

Parts of the body most commonly affected by RA include:

  • Hands
  • Knees
  • Ankles

RA usually affects the same joint on both sides of your body. For example, if your right hand is affected by the disease then it’s likely that your left hand will eventually be affected, as well. RA isn’t only limited to joints. In some cases, the eyes, heart, lungs, or entire circulatory system can be affected.

How Stem Cell Therapy for Inflammation Can Help

Stem Cell Therapy for InflammationStem Cell Institute has been at the forefront of stem cell research for over 15 years. This has yielded our greatest innovation to date—Golden Cells™. Identified at Medistem Panama, our founder’s laboratory, they have been refined to provide more effective treatments and reduce inflammation in our patients.

This special selection of cells is derived from human umbilical cords, donated from normal, healthy births, that have gone through an extensive high-throughput screening process. Furthermore, they are developed under the strictest internationally-recognized standards in our lab. This ensures that patients only receive the highest quality stem cells for their treatments.

On top of their anti-inflammatory properties, they have the ability to regulate your immune system and promote tissue repair. Furthermore, your immune system doesn’t recognize them as foreign bodies. We have performed 25,000+ procedures to date and have yet to have a patient whose body rejected Dr. Neil Riordan’s revolutionary Golden Cells™.  As a matter of fact, mesenchymal stem cells are approved in New Zealand and Canada to treat Graft-vs-Host Disease, which is caused by a transplant attacking the recipient’s body.
