This invention describes adult human dental pulp stem cells, and uses thereof. Described herein is a culture of isolated adult human dental pulp stem cells that can differentiate into dentin/pulp tissue from odontoblasts, and which can be used, in the presence of a mineral source, to produce a tooth in a human being. The present invention further provides a method of regenerating human dentin/pulp tissue.
