Described herein are novel human chemotactic polypeptides and the polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides. The invention relates to recombinant techniques for the production of such polypeptides as well as for their antagonists and the diagnostic assays which may be used in the identification of mutations in the nucleic acid sequences. Further disclosed are methods for recognizing altered levels of the polypeptide in the detection of disease. Therapeutic applications are included for stem cell mobilization, myeloprotection, neuronal protection, the treatment of tumors, the acceleration of wound healing, the treatment of parasitic infection, and the regulation of hematopoiesis.
