This invention describes a system of removing tumor cells from contaminated stem cell products via an in-line filtration process incorporating a tumor cell reduction filter preferably composed of one or more tumor cell reduction filter pads. Claims of the invention include a ten-fold reduction in tumor cells while allowing for at least a 30% recovery of stem cells in a filtered stem cell product.
