Described herein are novel T-cell growth promoting amino acid derivatives such as immunomodulatory and anticancer agents and hematopoietic stem cell growth promoters. The invention relates to a novel amino acid derivative or a salt thereof and methods of their production via chemical synthesis. Claims of the invention include the ability of these new compounds to stimulate proliferation and physiological activities of T cells of mammals, as well as the ability to exhibit an immunomodulating activity as well as an antitumor activity or a carcinostatic activity. Further described is the property of these new compounds to stimulate the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells. Precise sequences, formulae and chemical configurations are disclosed.
