This invention described a method of recombinant DNA encoding of the carboxy terminus of the human HTm4 protein. Disclosed are properties of an isolated recombinant DNA molecule comprising extrachromosomal DNA which encodes a mammalian HTm4 protein, a transformed host cell which has been stably transfected with the DNA molecule, and the recombinant HTm4 protein itself. Also disclosed is a method for detecting the presence of a hereditary atopy. Further provided are therapeutic applications in the treatment of cancer and arthritis.
